Photoshop makes this stuff feel like cheating. I couldn't make my drawings look anywhere near this good without it.

Working on a Justin Bailey version too.

I wanted to see if I could design something that reminded me of the Official Nintendo Player's Guide and old issues of Nintendo Power. This is what I came up with:



I didn't put much effort into the text, so if it's kinda laughable that's why.

It's nothing I was ever going to do past this mock up page (at least not for Metroid), it doesn't really even represent a quick path through the game (it assumes you beat Kraid before Ridley, when it's less of a hassle to do it the other way around).

It might be kinda fun to do one of these for something like Final Fantasy IIIj or Zelda: Outlands.

Oh, and I grabbed the map off of GameFaqs, I didn't design it myself.

Thanks! I think I'll at least do some more pages for other games; it's great practice for using the Photoshop program. I'd love to do a whole guide, but the amount of effort that would require would be pretty insane.

Although, if Nintendo is reading this and wants to pay me to do something like that for all the old games they're releasing on the Wii, that would be nice and I am sorry about all the mean things I think about your crappy wonderful system.

As a side note, if you ever want to get screenshots that look like they came from the TV on a computer, NEStopia has a great NTSC filter that looks surprisingly accurate. It slows down the gameplay to an insane degree (at least on my computer), but for grabbing a few images here and there it's great.
