Parts of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "The Needle and the Spoon" sound kind of similar to "Hello, I Love You" by the Doors.

The intro of Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) by the Rolling Stones and the intro of Smells Like Teen Spirit.
I've also noticed it's very easy to sing the opening lyrics of Third World's "Take This Song" to the intro of Le Tresor Interdit from Radical Dreamers. |

The 2nd level of Bad Dudes (arcade verison, not sure about NES version) is nearly identical to the first stage music (Bloodlines) of Dracula X.

The other day when I was driving, a new song came on the radio and it was so close to a song by The Cult, yet different, that it was distracting me and I had
to turn it off.

This is probably common knowledge, but the Chocobo song while fighting chocobos in FFVII is modeled after Wipeout.
Back pedalling a bit to that Rick Astley/Robo stuff, I can totally see someone getting "Robo Roll'd."

I was going to say that some of the background music in the later seasons of The Real Ghostbusters sounds a lot like the music from the Double Dragon cartoon,
but I think DiC just used the same music in both shows. I was trying to find information on this and someone on some website said that Double Dragon also had
music from Captain Planet used in it, so it seems likely.

I was thinking the other day that the verse (not the chorus) of "Who are you?" reminded me of something. Maybe that line, "It seems to me I
could live my life a lot better than I think I am" from "Working Man"

I was watching the Captain N DVDs last night and I noticed a background song that sounded like the Light World Dungeon theme from A Link to the Past, but
I'm pretty sure that episode was made before that game was out. It also would have been the only SNES song ever used in the show, so it's very likely
just coincidence.

I noticed that one of the background songs in the later RGB episodes sounded almost exactly like the first part of one of the DoDonPachi themes.

Birmingham Blues by the Electric Light Orchestra appears to have one part that was taken directly from Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.
If you listen very carefully to the music in Jackie's Cafe in Earthbound, you can hear the Star Spangled Banner playing in the background of it. |

I was listening to the Emerson Lake & Powell version of "Mars, the Bringer of War" and I just now realized how much it sounds like Gradius 3
music, particularly the Easter Island Head stage.

Gone Away by the Offspring sounds so similar to certain parts of Mad World by Tears For Fears, that I can sing Gone Away's lyrics over it. YouTube them and
try it.
Edit: I'm not the only person who's noticed it. There was also a post at Gamespot where someone mentioned it, but the rest of the thread is garbage, so I don't want to link it here.

Terra's Theme in Final Fantasy 6 and Dana's Theme in Ghostbusters. Another Nobuo Uematsu/Ghostbusters coincidence?
I mentioned before that one of the background songs in the RGB cartoon sounded like video game music, but I wasn't exactly sure what particular song(s)
it sounded like.
I recently heard the Final Fantasy 9 battle theme again and realized that it sounds peculiarly similar to that RGB music in some parts.
MP3s of the parts in question that sound similar (NOTE: the RGB song was actually converted from a midi, as opposed to being ripped directly from the show) Real Ghostbusters BGM MIDI: "Having to Face It" Final Fantasy 9 PSF:
"Battle 1"
